And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude? And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
I want to share a word on a Kingdom principle that the Lord has revealed to me: Grace Overshoot. Where this is demonstrated is in the feeding the 5000 and the 4000. When the 5000 men (beside women and children) were fed, Yeshua had five loaves and two fishes. After feeding the 5000 there were 12 baskets left over! Glory!
In the feeding of the 4000, the Lord blessed seven loaves and a few fishes--at least 3, but could be more. And after they ate there were 7 baskets left over. Lets do the math: 5000 fed with 5 loaves and 2 fish--12 baskets left over, 4000 fed with 7 loaves and at least 3 fish--7 baskets left over. These left overs are grace overshoots. When you ask from the King of kings you always get more than enough. But the greater the ask is the greater the overshoot. Yeshua fed more with less and had 12 baskets vs. 7 baskets--a greater grace overshoot. The take home is that if you place yourself in the Kingdom work where the need is greater, expect a greater grace overshoot, because God is soooo...good! Glory!!!
