Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
What are the implications of these questions? It is that you as a mere man can't, but God can and does! In this most ancient of books in the bible is this important insight: that God established and controls all of the stars, clusters, and constellations in the heavens! He binds the star cluster of the Pleiades together, He looses the belt of Orion, He brings forth the constellations in their season, He, as depicted in Bootes/Arcturus, guides His sons safely into the sheepfolds, He knows all of the ordinances and laws of motion of the starry vault, He has established their position in the second heaven over the earth! Glory to God in the highest!!!
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
The establishment of the second heaven was created for the purposes enumerated in this scripture. Studying them from a purely naturalistic point of view will never provide understanding. They are for these purposes: to separate day and night, to function as signs, and to mark seasons, days, years--appointed times. They are to shine light upon the earth and this light illuminates the world so that we can see, both literally and figuratively--so we can understand. God established their dominions, the sun over the day, the moon over the night. This system is declared as good.
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This is the first prophecy in scripture, the proto-evangelium, spoken by the LORD God. You will find this very scripture repeatedly depicted and opened up in the signs of heaven--Mazzaroth.
And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the Lord ; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
God brought Abram out under the night sky to show him something in the stars. This was more than a mere counting, it was reckoning, relating, recounting, rehearsing, declaring (caphar in Hebrew) the stars and from this God said "so shall thy seed be." When Abram believed the word of the Lord and what he was shown in the stars, he believed in the Lord and God counted it to him for righteousness--he was justified by faith.
Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
God preached the gospel to Abraham (Abram)! How did He do it? Through the stars! This is when Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Just like it happened for you believer, you heard the gospel and believed unto righteousness.
But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
Faith comes by hearing, hearing what? The gospel, the good news about Jesus! The question comes forth, have they not heard? The answer is a resounding yes, they have heard. Everyone has heard. Where have they heard? From the Holy Spirit re-quote of Psa 19:3-4: they have heard in the starry heavens! Glory!!!
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
The heavens declare the glory of God brethren! Every day, every night the story of redemption is proclaimed in the heavens for all to see! Their voice is loudly declaring that Jesus is Lord to the Glory of God! He is the Seed of the Woman, the Branch, the price paid for sin, the serpent subduer; stepping on the scorpion, receiving the sting in the heel, the God-Man fighting for us. He is the atoning sacrifice for sin that brings life to the multitude, He is the One who pours out living waters for His redeemed ones to drink and never thirst again, the peoples of the earth are in a great conflict with the enemy, but He is there as our substitutionary sacrifice--the Lamb of God! He will return as a great judge accompanied by His saints! As believers we are unified with Him, we rise above all of the conflict and rest secure in Him in His sheepfolds as He as the Lion of the tribe of Judah pours out God's wrath on the fleeing serpent and the crows eat its flesh! Glory to God in the Highest!!!
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
God does not believe in atheists. They know--they all know that God is and that His eternal power is displayed in His creation! There is no excuse! Glory to God!!!
